Thank you for sharing your heart with us, Shelbie. Also, I sing “you are my sunshine” to my kids all the time - so special 🥰

Thank you so much for sharing! As always, you write so beautifully, so authentically. I also struggle with winters and SAD. We will both get through it. Sunnier days are coming!

Yes! Sunny days are coming! I could also use a warm breeze. Haha. It was sunny yesterday but the baby did not like being outside even bundled up. He was chilly!

Beautifully written and shared. I love that you are finding lots to be your sunshine during the dark, winter days. I hope the sun shines brightly in all the ways again soon.

This was beautiful! I loved the weather imagery and you evoke so much emotion with your descriptions. I recently moved from San Diego to North Idaho and I was so worried about the winter, but I’m gratefully feeling okay so far and, like you, looking for life-giving light in other ways. Thank you for sharing and i hope the clouds of anxiety part soon 💛

Hi Aly, Idaho is my husband’s dream state to move to. We were close to Idaho on the Oregon border. I hope you love it. That is a beautiful part of the country to live in! I also see you write about OCD. That’s what I found out my anxiety after my first son was. I think I’ve had it since I was 8ish years old and only found out when I was 32.

Hi Shelbie, I’m so happy to connect with you! We are loving North Idaho—slower pace, breathtaking landscapes, and real seasons! Yes, I write about OCD. I was diagnosed at 35, but have had it since my earliest memories. Getting the appropriate treatment has been life-changing and, man, was it mind blowing to realize I’d been in this cycle for so long. Were you able to get help/better treatment once you found out the anxiety was really OCD?Feel free to send me a message if you ever want to chat OCD experiences and resources. I can see with OCD how moving to a cold/dark place could trigger all of the panic and what ifs. So glad you are able to see some good/sunshine.

Aly! Hello! Sorry for the late reply. I wanted to find a counselor through NOCD but they do not accept our insurance, so I found a local counselor specialized in OCD. She used ERP and CPT. I'm honestly not sure if it's working, but I'm just continuing to meet with her every 2 weeks.
